We are thrilled to start off 2016 with an amazing teleconference, featuring the incomparable Jenni Schaefer and Melanie Figaro, founder of Defining Me™.
Every person courageously fighting to overcome an eating disorder will, at some point, question both their ability to fully recover as well as who they are without the illness.
Jenni Schaefer, best-selling author of Life without Ed, Goodbye Ed, Hello Me and Almost Anorexic, and Melanie Figaro, founder of Defining Me™, a heart-felt movement to help people let go of the eating disorder identity and to live as their authentic self, faced these same seemingly unanswerable questions.
The answers they found though their practical experience with recovery is the topic of this MentorCONNECT Teleconference.
The intention of this teleconference is to offer hope in human form for anyone doubting whether recovery is really worth the intense daily effort, the narrowing self-study, and the ongoing rigorous honesty to understand who you are without an eating disorder. Jenni, Melanie and the many thousands who have overcome an eating disorder will tell you that recovery is possible, if not probable, if you keep doing the next right thing.

More about Melanie Figaro
Melanie is the Director of Marketing at Eating Disorder Center of Denver and Founder of Defining ME. Based on an article she wrote in 2007 about Defining ME as the expression of her experience redefining her indentify beyond that of a person struggling with an eating disorder, Melanie partnered with the EDC-Denver Team to create the Defining ME movement that encourages those struggling with eating disorder a judgment-free opportunity to re-evaluate who they are beyond that of someone in struggle and to share that experience with others seeking the same. For over 15 years, the EDC-Denver Team uses an empowerment-based treatment that helps patients begin the journey to discover their authentic selves if they aren’t able to work through the process on their own. Melanie’s fearless attitude and passion to represent the voice of people affected by eating disorders has helped build a connection in the community so survivors might no longer feel so alone on their road to recovery.
