Alyssa Johnson, MA, LPCC, NCC
Admissions Assessment Clinician
Alyssa graduated from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs as a pre-med student with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with a focus in clinical mental health counseling. Alyssa joined the Eating Disorder Center in 2014 to complete her practicum and internship hours where she gained experience working with various types of eating disorders. She is now the Admissions Assessment Clinician for EDCD and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Alyssa works with clients to explore the various components that contribute to their eating disorder while supporting them in their recovery and their journey to become more self-aware. As the facilitator of the Education and Recovery Skills group, Alyssa encourages clients to reconstruct their destructive thought patterns and use the CAMSA skills model to learn healthier ways of coping. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
