Psychodramatist

Through her work as a psychodramatist and experiential therapist, Susan offers a safe stage wherein patients can practice being in the present and learn to accept themselves. Susan has been a therapist in behavioral health for more than 40 years. She has specialized in occupational therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and psychodrama in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma and chemical dependency. Susan believes that psychodrama creates an opportunity to examine present and past roles, express unspoken feelings and develop the spontaneity necessary to create a healthy life. She has presented many workshops on the use of humor and play in healing, team building and mindfulness-based stress reduction, and DBT skills training. Susan holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychiatric occupational therapy from Colorado State University. She recently completed intensive training in dialectical behavior therapy. She is trained in EMDR and therapeutic touch, is a certified addictions counselor, and is a nationally certified trainer, educator and practitioner of psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy.
