Eating Disorder Center of Denver Art Therapists to Present
 at American Art Therapy Conference

DENVER, COLO. (October 14, 2010)  The Eating Disorder Center of Denver's art therapist, Laura Peroutka, M.A., ATR, LPC, and Program Director Trish O’Donnell, ATR-BC, LPC, will present at the American Art Therapy Association’s 41^st Annual Conference: Art Therapy: Awakening the Awareness! Nov. 3-7 in Sacramento, Calif.

Peroutka and O’Donnell’s presentation entitled, "Embodying Change: Integrating Art in the Treatment of Eating Disorders and Trauma,” will illustrate through case study and experiential, the power of art therapy to impact change, provide safety, and bypass resistance and rigidity.

The American Art Therapy Association is an organization of professionals dedicated to the belief that the creative process is healing and life enhancing. Art therapy uses art to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well being of individuals based on the belief that the creative process assists in resolving conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness and achieve insight.
