"The milieu staff was amazing. I have learned and grown even more. I am very proud of my accomplishments, as well as the ability to recover from this disease. I appreciate a second chance. I learned a lot of skills and was able to overcome a lot of fears (especially with food). Janice V. was a wonderful therapist. Being in two different treatment centers, I was able to see what worked best for me. The groups here are amazing. The staff is great. Staffings were scary, but well taken. It was nice to be part of the recovery process."

Working from a relational approach, Dr. Ziemke is a “fellow traveler” in her patients’ healing and recovery journey, by helping them move toward health through acceptance of self and “what is.” She works with individuals who struggle with all forms of eating disorders and also evaluates bariatric surgery candidates providing recommendations to optimize their goals or address problems with eating. Dr. Ziemke believes that co-existing problems, such as mood and anxiety disorders, chemical dependency, or trauma history, increases the complexity of recovery and healing; and are honored and addressed in the journey. She uses a bio-psycho-social-spiritual perspective and a variety of therapeutic tools rooted in mindfulness, acceptance, sense of self, values, action and humor.
